Chess at the lab is taught through a series of mini games and challenges. Students learn the rules, the board, and chess strategies. Weekly, students are exposed to additional chess techniques that will encourage healthy competition, reinforce team building and confidence building. Through fun and exciting games, activities and projects, IDEA lab teaches mental math techniques that can assist in many of the other disciplines we teach at the lab including entrepreneurship and engineering! Mini games and projects allow students time to strengthen their calculating abilities!

Through STEAM Challenges and knowledge based games, students at the lab are encouraged to think their way through situations! IDEA Lab fosters team building and growth among our students! Students are encouraged to work together, and collectively to accomplish challenges such as building a trip wire alarm, building a weather station and so much more.
